Renegade Ferments was founded in 2016 by two old friends who share a passion for food and fermentation. Based on the do-it-yourself principles of the Craft Beer movement in New Zealand, we set up a fermented food brewery in the back of an old cafe on Achilles Avenue in Nelson. Since then, we have been creating sauerkraut and kombucha in our happily bubbling barrels the way we loved doing it ourselves at home.
We aim to make the finest sauerkraut and kombucha with minimal ingredients, organic whenever possible and without any preservatives except the ones that nature provides. Our products are unpasteurised, alive and very much delicious. We hope you enjoy them!
